The magnificent Karnak Temple complex is the area where the religious heritage and practices of the ancient Egyptians are best shown. The Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu, together with several additional gods who each have their temple, is honored by the Pr-Imn house of Amun. The Karnak temple complex was built across a 247-acre area between the years 2000 BC and 30 AD, making it by far the largest open-air museum in the world. The magnificent Luxor Temple is located along the Avenue of Sphinxes, which is the best example of ancient Egyptian creative craftsmanship.

Luxor Temple by Night

The majestic Luxor Temple, often referred to as the Southern Sanctuary was constructed only to honor the pharaoh. It was constructed approximately 1400 BC to honor the Theban trinity of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu and to serve as the site of the Opet festival, which celebrated the revival of monarchy. In 1979, it was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The Kings’ Valley

The mummies and valuables of the immortal ancient Pharaohs from the new kingdom (1570–1050 BC) are kept in the Valley of the Kings, which is located at the base of a holy hill and far below the surface of the earth. The valley is home to 63 tombs that are decorated with golden artifacts and jewels from legendary monarchs including Seti I, Hatshepsut, Ramses the Great, and Tutankhamun, among others.

The stunning Queen Hatshepsut Temple (1507–1458 BC) was built to worship Amun, the sun god, and to preserve and throw some light on the everlasting legacy of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the most successful pharaohs in the rich history of ancient Egypt. The charming Hatshepsut Temple is an excellent example of traditional Egyptian architecture.

Memnon’s Colossi

The magnificent Colossi of Memnon of Pharaoh Amenhotep III were created in Cairo in 1350 BC and then transported 700 meters to Luxor where they were placed in the damaged mortuary temple of Amenhotep II.

The gold barge The Kom Ombo Temple is a two-in-one marvel that was built between 180 BC and 47 BC. It has two temples with two entrances, two hypostyle halls, and two sanctuaries that are devoted to the gods Sobek, the crocodile deity of the Nile, and Horus the Elder.

The High Dam

Due to its capacity to generate energy, the huge High Dam, which is located at Aswan across the Nile River and was built between 1960 and 1970, has positively impacted Egypt’s economy and culture.

Queen Hatshepsut (1508–1458 BC) built the grandest marvel that was never realized to go with the Lateran Obelisk at the entrance to the Karnak temple. It serves as one of the largest outdoor museums in the world.

Temple of Philae

A living marvel full of eternal beauty and art is the holy Philae temple of the goddess Isis of Love and Beauty. The temple, which Ptolemy II constructed in 280 BC, is home to some of history’s most fascinating ornamentation. Isis, Osiris, and Horus are just a few of the famous Egyptian deities whose stories are told at the temple. In the 1960s and 1970s, it was moved to Agilkia Island as a part of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign project.

You will return to the ship at the end of the day to have lunch and supper and stay the night.
